The game has a "honey" currency that regenerates over time that you must spend to play levels, but you can pay $4.99 once to get unlimited honey. There is a coin currency as well, but it is easily available, and only rarely used for treasure events and for waking up a powerup bear early. While "rare" powerup bears take several hours to nap, common bears only take a few minutes, and you will never run out of common bears. Rare bears are not overpowered, and have alternate abilities on par with common bears, so waking them is not essential to playing the game.
