Solus Operating System is a Linux distribution built from scratch, exclusively for desktop systems. There is no scope-creep associated with generic platforms, and the project aims to provide a modern and focused desktop-centric solution, that is designed to keep out of the way of the user, working intuitively with virtually no configuration required. As such, there is a stronger emphasis on multimedia and “home-computing” enabling, as well as enabling desktop users to go about their daily professional lives with ease. It is available as an installable LiveCD and is only available for x86_64 computers (64-bit). UEFI support now exists as of Solus Operating System Beta 2.
