The One M8 uses two cameras on the rear: the main 4.0 megapixel sensor and another 2.0 megapixel sensor that functions as a depth sensor. The M8's main sensor is a little low resolutions for photographers that rely heavily on their smartphone camera, but the resolution should be sufficient for social media shots and photos with little cropping. Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 allows for significantly quicker charge times. With Quick Charge 2.0 the time to charge the M8 to 25% for example will drop from an hour to only 12 minutes. The 1020 offers a powerful 41 megapixel camera that for some maybe a point and shoot replacement. The camera offers powerful OIS (optical image stabilization) to allow for slower shutter speeds in low light conditions and smooth video. The camera has no optical zoom but with 41 megapixels and oversampling software, software zooming is much improved. Nokia also offers powerful manual controls and other camera applications to take advantage of the camera. One disadvantage of the 41 megapixels is the shot to shot time. In normal camera operation without burst mode the camera takes its time to save the image before you can take the next shot. See More
At first glance this 2,000 mAh battery is a bit unimpressive. Fortunately though the 1020 defies its specification and offers impressive battery life. Making it through the day should be no problem with normal usage. Although one disadvantage is the battery is non-removable. The optional camera grip with the battery expansion should be used for long days of photography. See More
The 4.5'' 1280 x 768 screen on the 1020 is an AMOLED display with 334 PPI. Viewing angles are excellent and blacks are very black. The 1020 also features Gorilla Glass 3 and Nokia's super sensitive technology. The display is very saturated but Nokia offers the Color Profile application for different tastes. See More
The 1520's display is pretty close to perfection. The screen is 1080p with a dense PPI of 367. Colors are bright and vibrant. The display is super sensitive and can be used with gloves. The viewing angles are fantastic and the whites are truly white. The colors (temperature and saturation) can even be adjusted in Nokia's color profile application. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 2. Lastly Nokia's ClearBlack technology allows for better outdoor readability with built-in polarization filters. See More
The camera on the 1520 is fantastic even if it is a little bit overshadowed by the 41 megapixel camera on the 1020. The camera uses Carl Zeiss optics and has OIS (optical image stabilization) for photos in low light conditions and minimal vibration during videos. Image capture responsiveness is somewhat slow but the overall image quality is excellent. Nokia's camera apps also offer powerful levels of manual control and even RAW support. See More
Like the design the display size of the Icon is less polarizing than the outrageous and unconventional six inch display of the 1520. The 5 inch size of the Icon is a perfect medium for a range of people and the size allows for a full three rows of tiles on the Start screen. The OLED display is fantastic as well. The PPI is a dense 441 PPI. The colors are rich and the display has great viewing angles. The Icon also includes Nokia's sunlight readability, super sensitivity settings, and the color profile app. See More
With the Lumia Icon, Nokia evolved the bold designs of the Lumia 1520 and 1020 into a more traditional approach. The Icon's design is by no means boring, it just lacks the daring form of it's AT&T siblings. The Verizon Icon uses an attractive rectangular design with excellent build quality but it breaks no conventions. The Icon is available in the traditional black and white color choices. See More
The most differentiating feature of the 1320 from other smartphones is it's screen size. The display is enormous. Luckily though this display is more than just huge. The brightness is very strong and the display excels in outdoor visibility because of the built in polarizing filters. The 1320 also offers a super-sensitivity option in the settings that allows for the use of the touchscreen with gloves. The super-sensitive display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Colors are accurate although a little under saturated for some tastes. Fortunately the color temperature and saturation of the 1320 can be adjusted to a small extent with the Nokia color profile app. The only real possible disappointment of the 1320's display is the PPI. The PPI of the 1320 is a somewhat low 245 pixels per inch. Pixelation is not an issue but text does not look as crisp as higher end smartphones. The 1320 shares the same battery as the 1520. Both the 1520 and the 1320 take advantage of their large size and give the user fantastic battery life. Although the 1320 is even better though with its more modest specifications. A heavy user should easily make it through the day and if you are a light user 2-3 days is reasonable. Unfortunately though the battery is non-replaceable if the battery life ever decreases over time. See More
A dual core chip with 1GB of RAM is not exactly an impressive specification in the Android world. But Windows Phone is known to run perfectly smooth and consistent on all devices from the budget Lumia 520 with 512 MB of RAM to flagships with quad-core processors and 2GB of RAM like the Lumia 1520. The 1320 handles tasks admirably with only very heavy gamers maybe needing a more powerful processor. On the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark the 1320 recieved a score of 703 which is lower than the Note III, iPhone 5s, and Lumia 1520 but higher than the Galaxy S4, HTC One, and Nexus 5. See More
The 1320 has a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. Currently with Windows Phone 8, only user files such as music and photos can be put on the card. But with the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 update applications can be saved to the card and MicroSD cards up to the massive 128GB size will be supported. See More
The 20MP camera does a really good job in all lighting conditions. For low light shooting, it uses a triple color flash, and allows you to adjust the flash brightness after you take pictures. OIS also helps steady the phone, additionally improving low light shooting as well as video stabilization. Speaking of video, the 4 mic recording setup means audio captured will be crisp and high quality. Lastly, the 2 stage dedicated camera button can act as a shortcut to launch the camera, and pressing it down half way focuses the picture much like a regular point-and-shoot camera. See More
Windows 10 for mobile is the newest OS for Windows Phones. It makes a lot of improvements, but the two headlining features are Continuum and Windows Hello. Continuum is a feature available in Windows 10 mobile that allows you to hook up a keyboard, mouse and monitor (through a $100 accessory) and use your phone as a computer. Windows Hello uses an infra-red iris scanner to verify you, and unlocks the phone. This is more secure than a fingerprint scanner, but also takes about a second longer (and you need to be close to the device). See More
