Pros
Pro ES6 module support
Webpack supports ES6 modules and their import
and export
methods without having to compile them to CommonJS require
.
Pro Not tied to NPM
If you want to use a module that's not available in npm, you can still use any repository you want. Webpack can easily be configured to load modules from wherever you want. For example, to load modules from the bower_components/
folder you can do this:
module.exports = {
entry: 'app/index.js',
output: {
path: 'dist/',
filename: 'bundle.js',
},
resolve: {
modulesDirectories: ['node_modules', 'bower_components'],
},
};
