Jelly Jump is a strikingly simple game that brings to light one of psychology's most underrated precepts, discovered back in the Civil War era: Vierordt's law. This principle describes the well-observed predisposition of humans to overestimate short intervals of time and underestimate long ones. All you are asked to do is tap the screen to make your blob of jelly jump up to a platform above it before it closes and subjects you to the rising pool of acid below, killing you. Yep, just estimate the right time to make the jump and you keep playing,...then confront the reality that your amazing human brain just wasn't made to perform this simple task well.
