Terraria is a sandbox platform-adventure game, so it partly hinges on beating various bosses. If you play it purely for the sake of defeating all the bosses, you might have little else to do afterwards. Restarting the game won't be as enjoyable either because you'll already know what to expect, causing continued play without a new goal feel mundane or boring. See More
Instead of building a deliberate feeling of suspense, Terraria uses bright palettes and arcade action to provide a fun experience outside of the survival elements. When those elements gradually appear one by one, each is all the more shocking from the contrast which makes for an ever growing sense of urgency in the game to craft a safe space as well as weapons to protect oneself. Excellently paced, the game introduces different mechanics as the game progresses so it doesn't feel stale. To change things up even more, there are challenge levels that turn the default focus of collecting as many of Lums as possible to pure survival. Add to that responsive controls and you have a fun, addictive game. See More
While some people may not agree, to see a 2 year old remastered port of a port be released at a price point of $9.99, the price is not really justified. While it is great to see more up front priced console quality games released for Android, 2 year old ports priced at premium prices (for the platform in comparison to other titles) is only showing Disney's greed at taking advantage of the fact that there are so few currently. One of the main staples of having grown up in the 80's is Disneys after school cartoons. one of the more popular cartoons in this series is DuckTales. To capitalize on the cartoons popularity Capcom created a platformer game from the franchise for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Unlike a lot of branded games of the time (E.T., Goonies) DuckTales turned out to be a very good game. One that just about anyone who grew up in the 80's should be familiar with, and even if not at least familiar with the cartoon itself. So now that 80's children have grown up and have jobs and money, the current trend is for companies to capitalize on that nostalgia.
