The ThinkPad P50 currently occupies the apex of Lenovo's mobile workstation pyramid in the 15.6" form factor. These machines are meant to be realistic replacements for desktop computers in most situations, with available options such as Intel Xeon processors, 4 SODIMM slots for RAM upgrades, discrete nVidia Maxwell graphics with 4GB of VRAM, FHD or 4K IPS display panels, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, and a docking station that offers multiple monitors and all the other desktop conveniences when you're no longer on the go. Considered the standard for business mobile computing since IBM introduced the line in 1992, these are serious computers for serious use cases.
