Shows info about commands/key-combos
Typing in a command will show a box with information about how to use the command. Multi-character keyboard shortcuts also show a box with information on the available key combinations.

Incompatible with Vim configs
Because Kakoune is merely vim-inspired rather than vim-based, configuration files and plugins for Vim cannot be used by Kakoune, which makes transitioning from Vim to Kakoune have more friction than transitioning to another Vim baed editor like Neovim, and means that there are fewer plugins available compared to Vim or Neovim.

py's Experience
Out of familiarity and compatibility, I tend to use Neovim more often than Kakoune. However, I like the selection based editing model of Kakoune, which combined with the reversed syntax can be easier to use.

Text selection mechanism
Kakoune works on selections, which are oriented, inclusive range of characters, selections have an anchor and a cursor character. Most commands move both of them, except when extending selection where the anchor character stays fixed and the cursor one moves around.

Will be familiar to vim users
Kakoune first started as a rewrite from scratch of vim, but then ended up being another text editor altogether. So it's inspired in a lot of ways from vim.
