Pros
Pro You can setup LXDE with the same look across different machines easily
Most of the configuration of LXDE is read from files. Consequently, you can store and manage these files in the same way you might manage other dotfiles, meaning that you can setup LXDE to your liking on a new machine very quickly and easily.

Cons
Con Only halfway to GTK+3
Most of Xfce's components were built in GTK+2 and the upgrade process to GTK+3 was very slow due to the lack of manpower.
Con Problem with log in

It's a solid DE, but it's no longer being developed. It has been succeeded by LXQt, a project run by the same developers.

LXDE is simple, easy to customize, and very light weight. It runs on my iMac 2004, and runs smoothly. I have no complaints about this. It does not take up much of my RAM, and has been my go-to desktop environment for a while.

Breaks with simple stuff like the desktop and ends up being slowed down. You end up installing XFCE software just so things can work smoothly to the point where you might even switch to XFCE bc LXDE is basically a shitty DE as a knock-off of XFCE. LXDE is just a lesser v of XFCE. When I was trying to replace...

LXDE is a great low-end PC DE. it's very light and modular. it uses LXpanel for panel support and PCManFM for File management and handling Desktop icons and wallpaper. by default it looks like one of the 2000s custom Windows XP themes but Openbox (default WM in XFCE) has so many themes and you can find s...
