starcrescendo's Experience
I enjoy Laragon but find it very difficult to set-up. It's spectacular once you get it working, very stable - get it working and never touch it. The team making it may be small or even only one guy. Frequently I will attempt to update and it will fail. Supposed to be able to just drop in new php/Mysql folders in the director but for whatever reason that fails, even a fresh install will fail and then I will have to go without a local development environment for a few days while waiting on support request to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. I use it simply as a local PHP development server so I can install Wordpress or other apps and work on development projects. It comes with a lot of bloat which is great for those who know how to use it, but personally I don't use Adminer, prefer phpMyAdmin, and don't use Node, Git, or Notepad++ yet those are bundled with it.

Slow to update
Still no pre-configured support for PHP 8 at this time like other platforms like XAMPP already have. You can update the services yourself but it'd be nice to have it all preconfigured.

They should have one full and one portable. Instead they have many variations to download (and upkeep) which leads to problems with downloads not being built properly.
