Can I thumbsup more than once? Personally, long time VLC user. But before VLC, there was this program, this very plain looking program, I don't remember exactly the name. But for some reason, foobar2000 brough back memories. Just installed, and customizing layout now which starts right up on first load. Oh, and I downloaded the stable version, beta has alot of updates and Idk how that version will be. But so far this player will work perfectly! And it's PORTABLE! ok idk why I'm getting so excited, I'm pretty sure you can make any program portable and how often do we really use those properly? One sec as I finish this layout...I'm very picky...wow..this thing is looking great. And it's fast. -(Found a bug on my end, "Dark Grey Orange", "Dark Grey Magenta", and a few others are not working when selected. Those two for example are just "Dark Grey". Maybe the Magenta and Orange parts are shown elsewhere just not in the window I'm currently in?) Ok no biggie. Design/Layout is set. If you don't care, you can set it up which ever way you with 1 click. I went with the "Dark Grey Magenta". Yeah I know, I said it wasn't working. But hopefully it does because that color combination is exactly how my windows is set up. Dark grey windows and a magenta/closer to pink cursor and a few other accents. The magenta really makes things stand out. Hopefully it's not the playlist when I import some stuff, that would be an eye sore. But wait, looks like I can change it? Hmmm. Ok the Layout Editing Mode is legit, perfect for column customizing.... Yeah I'm gonna keep typing, more for personal reference so excuse my compulsive mechanical keyboard clicks if you can hear them from wherever you are.. AH! I was right.the "Magenta" part is the 'Highlight' color. But it looks more Pink than Magenta, so I'm going to brighten it up a little bit. Right? Magenta is brighter than pink no? It's got to be!! Can I add a music library that's on an external HDD? I'm sure I can, but what could I mess up? Welp, gotta google for a sec... ok I didn't find any serious issues. So I'll look more into that later, but basically it seems like iTunes users have a bit more to do if they're storing their conent library on an external. Unless things have changed. Google needs to stop showing these old forum posts so often. Not completely, they're great for most things, but they gotta give the new boards a chance I mean jeeze who knows if a forum from 2006 that says [SOLVED] wil work 12 years later. Google search by date seems to work ok for those types of things. But is it just me? Or does google's search results seem a little off? Especially with the whole naughty filtering. And I'm not talking about professional actresses getting dp'd. I'm starting see sites that are just simply...too nice? No F that! Too CORPORATE!! Just cuz they're titles and descriptions sound so welcoming, yeah uhhuh, I'm on to you, whoever you are, spending thousands of dollars on ad marketing leaving all the smaller sites on page 3. Ok, now. Adding the Path [3:16am] ..Initializing... ..[42gb Library].. Status shows "Monitoring" now [3:19am] That's fair no? I mean, 3 seconds, I didn't need to copy anything I think. Let's see what's next, ok so I guess go to Open. Nope, I don't want to open one file. I guess i need to make a Folder. Ok good, I'll just add "John Mayer" from my Discography directory [mp3], and yes "Kevin Gates - Islah (2016)" from the albums directory since that is the only album I have in FLAC atm. So I want to try the two formats. Screw it I selected the entire folder structer and it took less than a second and everything is loaded up. Playlist looks clean. I like it so far. Meta data is all there. Nice. Oh wow, the meta data really is everywhere. But that's probably because these are legit cd rips. Damn I'm good. Oh sorry, this is about foobar... Soooo now I press on the triangle button sideways? Nooo?! Ok i do now! Off the bat! Looks amazing. Smooth. Simple. Easy. I'm only into the main interface. They have alot of features on their site. Definitely keeping. Windows default media apps are gone. VLC gone too, but only because I'm on a fresh install of windows and I guess no reason to re-install it now. I like the customization with just the stock UI. I don't like 3rd party addons and tools, so I try to avoid those as much as possible. The default customization will do. I love it! At first launch, the player's only step is a simple basic layout configuration wizard which lets you customize the main view of the user interface to your liking. This part gets more into detail when you enable "Layout Editing Mode". There you can add/remove block elements, columns, and even the ability to rename those columns! So "Playlists", by default, can be anything you want. Additionally, color & font customization is possible through the "Default User Interface" preference options along with theme export and import options as a backup, but it's so simple to setup, that redoing everything wouldn't even be that much of a hassle. MusicBee can be skinned which can significantly change the appearance of a player. To apply a skin, it must first be downloaded, moved to the appropriate folder, and after restarting MusicBee, it can be applied. A collection of skins can be found here. Compared to other players, Winamp doesn't offer high quality audio. ...WAV sound is very good, use Asio4all for best results (WIN10), WASAPI not recommended. With WAV minor possibilities to show informations. Added cover to my ripped CD`s are invisible. Musik is organised in folders, there cover art is added. I can see only cover art added by winyl and titles of the songs...... See More
