The third generation of the popular Rokit series studio monitors from KRK, the Rokit 5 studio monitors provide professional level, high quality sound. These speakers can produce full-sounding and powerful bass, thanks to the front bass port design, along with highs that are crisp and clear. These speakers are also relatively compact and will fit different setups.

Pros
Pro Accurate sound with crisp highs and a little extra oomph on the low end
In its flat setting, the Rokit 5 produces highs that are clean and crisp. These speakers also produce bass that is impactful and very well defined. These sound characteristics are achieved through the use of a 5 inch glass-aramid composite woofer along with a 1 inch-soft dome tweeter. The sound output of these speakers is consistent throughout the wide volume range thanks to the use of a bi-amped system where one amplifier is dedicated to the woofer, and another one is used for the tweeter.
Pro Highs are clear and lively and come with a lot of detail thanks to the proprietary waveguide design
These speakers’ highs are very clear with little to no distortion and do not come off as sibilant. These speakers are able to deliver a great reproduction of high frequencies thanks to the use of KRK’s proprietary waveguide technology which optimally directs sound to the listener’s ear. Not only does this result in clarity but also allows for accurate imaging of the sound.
Pro Boost or reduce highs with the high frequency knob
If you feel that the highs are not to your liking, then it is possible for you to either boost or reduce highs using the high frequency knob adjustment on the back. You get the option to reduce the highs -2dB lower or increase the said frequencies up +1dB.
Pro Compatible with many studio configurations thanks to multiple inputs
It is possible for the Rokit 5 to work with computers, audio interfaces, smartphones, and a wide variety of other audio sources. This is due to the 3 input options on each Rokit 5 speaker which include an unbalanced RCA, balanced TRS, and balanced XLR connections.
Pro Powerful and accurate bass delivery due to the front port design
The bass that the Rokit 5 produces is not lacking in any way. Low frequencies sound full and have a lot of power without sounding muddy. Bass delivery is clean and direct thanks to the front bass port design of these speakers which minimize the bass reflection problems that most rear ported studio monitors have.
Cons
Con Requires a proper room setup for optimal sound
You will need to pay extra attention to the setup of the space that you will be using these speakers in. You can place these speakers closer to a wall without too much bass reflections thanks to the front port design. However you will still need to consider adding sound insulation on key areas of your room like on the walls, floors, and ceilings to bring out optimal accuracy from these speakers.
Con Low frequencies may sound overwhelming for some due to the front bass port design
Bass frequencies may be exaggerated because of the front bass port design. This is definitely not ideal if you are really after a flat sound.
This can be mitigated by using the low frequency adjustment knob at the back of each speaker.
