This client is based on Nylas, yet its backend was improved and it works better than the latter. I was amazed using this client after the discontinuation of Nylas.

$8 a month is ridiculous for very minor upgrade features. All users are tied to specific accounts. This program claims to value open-source principles, but in reality has turned its back on the community. See Github Issues for a (largely ignored) thread about the profit model.
