Interaction is acceptable, but the interface is aged, and the professional features are lacking. Features such as handling large databases and providing complex filtering which users find with other clients for workplace use is just not there, making this more of a personal app than a productivity app. See More
I love Mutt and have been using it for years. A funny thing happened when I switched to startmail as my mail provider, I emailed their tech support and asked if they had any documentation on how to configure the .muttrc file, as I could not find any documentation for Mutt on their website. The tech responded that instructions for configuring Evolution via the command line were on their website. (I could find no such CLI Evolution instructions on the startmail website, but that is beside the point.) I wrote back and politely asked if she could send my ticket to someone with a bit more nix experience. She took the request well and forwarded my ticket on. The next day their tier 2 support contacted me and wrote, I quote, "We all use Mutt too. Here is how I have my file configured." (By we all, I am guessing he meant the tier 2 support folks.) See More
It uses SQLite DB for storing email messages from all accounts in one single DB file. This makes it portable as in you can just copy one SQLite DB file and move your offline mail content to another PC/location. Also, one SQLite DB file for all messages means it is incredibly fast. See More
$8 a month is ridiculous for very minor upgrade features. All users are tied to specific accounts. This program claims to value open-source principles, but in reality has turned its back on the community. See Github Issues for a (largely ignored) thread about the profit model. See More
