Pros
Pro Mad Libs-esque playlist creation based on mood
Beats Music offers a new method of music discovery with "The Sentence." The user fills in the four blanks in the sentence with any of the options available to create a playlist based on where they are and how they are feeling. "The Sentence" is a creative deviation from the overdone "personalized radio station" of other music services and actually works well with over 1 million possible sentences.
Pro Playlists created by people
Beats Music focuses on playlists selected by curators rather than intelligent radios in other streaming services. Choosing playlists selected by the curators at Beats improves the experience with another method of music discovery. Of course you can still heart or disheart any song on your own to improve the service's suggestions in the Just For You section.
Pro Available on the web and mobile apps
Compatibility is a strong suit of Beats Music. Beats Music offers an iOS application for both the iPhone and the iPad, an Android application, and a Windows Phone 8 application. Computers use the web application. The only exclusion is a Windows 8 metro style application.
Cons
Con No free option
Beats Music is a purely subscription based service. A free option would be useful to test the quality of the web and mobile applications and look for any holes in the music library. But at least the service is 100% focused on catering to its paid subscribers instead of trying to make money off of a free service.
