Pros
Pro Available with a braking system
Besides its standard version, the Comp 95 had an “X” version that comes with a braking system.
Pro Reliable truck system for extreme tricks
This board features the Matrix II channel truck system, one of the most advanced trucks from MBS. Its especially designed plastic truck top and CroMoly 12mm axles makes it light and, at the same time, very strong and solid. This enables riders to perform even the most extreme tricks with confidence.
Pro Good for high-speed riding and tricks
This board's 95 cm length makes it very stable at high speeds, but compact enough for pulling off tricks.
Pro Unique shape for rider's comfort and stability
For high comfort and stability, the Comp 95's deck has an asymmetrical concave shape, which puts less pressure on rider's heels and helps lock one's feet on the deck.
Pro Strong and durable deck
This baords deck uses a Powerlam layup that combines maple and fiberglass. The result is a flexible yet strong deck that allows the deck to withstand a lot of pressure when performing tricks and rail slides and eliminates worries about durability.
Pro Comfortable memory foam padding
The binding's padding uses dual density memory foam, for increased comfort and durability.
Pro Add and remove heel straps easily
Integrated heel strap mounts lets you add and remove heel straps quickly and conveniently.
Pro Clever and functional binding system
This longboard uses F5 adjustable ratchet straps, with additional second level adjustment. This helps adjust the bindings precisely for each individual foot. Foot release is easy and quick, thanks to the cleverly designed ratchet buckle release.
Pro Durable hubs
This board's hubs are made from plastic and have fantastic durability, being second only to heavier, and more expensive, aluminum hubs.
Pro Precisely tunable suspension system
The Comp 95 uses the ShockBlock suspension system, which is much lighter than traditional spring shocks. Additionally, it offers a very wide and independent heel and toe resistance adjustment range, so you can fine tune it for high speed carving or freestyle riding.
Pro Easy rail grinding
Thanks to the flat grinding surface on this board's axles, rail grinding is quite easy.
Pro Can be used by both teenagers and adults.
The 95cm length of the Comp 95's deck means it suitable both for teenagers and adults.
Pro Increased stiffness for easier rail slides
The center of the Comp 95' deck has an arched chamber, which adds stiffness and makes rail slides easier.
Pro Compatible with both channel and skate trucks
Even though this board's deck has a 30-degree angled tip, which is best suited for channel trucks, it’s possible to mount it with skate trucks.
Pro Deck is flexible enough to handle impact and floor irregularities
Despite being a short board, you will find it’s flexible enough to absorb shock (from jumps, for example) and vibrations caused by riding in rough terrains.
Pro Conveniently carriable and transformable
The SDS 32'' is quite light and compact, when compared to other mountainboards, and can therefore be carried around easily. Like on skateboards, the grip tape covers the top of the board, so if you get tired of mountainboarding, you can take the bindings off and use it as an all-terrain longboard or a board for daily commutes.
Cons
Con Not as durable as higher-end MBS boards
While this board uses the same shape as the more expensive MBS Pro 97 board, it has a different layup structure, making it less durable this high-end alternative.
Con Only compatible with 8 inch tires
The Comp 95's hubs are only compatible with 8 inch tires. If you want to use 9 inch tires, you have no choice but installing compatible hubs too.
Con Hubs are heavy
This board's hubs are quite heavy, for plastic hubs.
Con Standard bearing aren't the best option
This board uses ABEC 5 bearings, which aren’t the best, so you may want to change them for better speed. The price of better replacements isn't high, but they may be hard to find, since the needed size is larger than standard mountainboard bearings.
Con Limited upgrade and customisation options
Straight out of the box, this board has very little customization options: you can change the board’s tires and little else. Theoretically, this can be fixed by drilling new holes for bindings and trucks, but considering the cost of doing that, you’ll be better off upgrading to a new, superior board.
Con Not suitable for tall or heavy adults
This board's deck is only 32 inches long and its weight limit is only 180 pounds, making it a good option only for children or small adults.
