Pros
Pro Great to excellent performance options
The laptop has 3 GPU configurations - GeForce GTX 980M, GeForce GTX 970M and two GTX 980M over SLI with 3DMark's 1920x1080 Fire Strike Standard Graphics benchmarks showing scores of 9774, 7440, and 18632 respectively. As of March, 2015 970M and 980M are the top two mobile graphics cards on the market with 980M being 20 to 30 percent faster than the 970M. Having two 980M GPUs connected over SLI almost doubles laptop's graphics performance.
In the real world, GTX 980M allows running Evolve, Shadow of Mordor, Battlefield 4, on ultra at 62, 66, 72 fps on average respectively, GTX 970M allows running same games on ultra at 51, 52, 55 fps on average respectively while having two GTX 980M GPUs over SLI allows running Far Cry 4, Shadow of Mordor, Battlefield 4 on ultra at 113, 116, 124 fps on average respectively.
It's also possible to configure it with Nvidia's Quadro K5000M GPU, but that should generally be avoided for gaming as it's less powerful than any other option and more expensive.
There are also 4 CPU options - i7-4710MQ, i7-4810MQ, i7-4910MQ, and i7-4940MX with PassMark's scores of 7,977, 8,781, 9,746 and 9,918 respectively. As of March, 2015, the top laptop CPU has a score of 10,087 so all of these are great options.
The laptop has 32GB of RAM which will allow handling anything thrown at it. Still, it should be noted that anything past 16GB of RAM for gaming is overkill.
The laptop has 4 storage drive slots. At minimum it comes with 512GB of SSD and 1TB of HDD, but can be upgraded in a variety of ways with up to 4 SSD drives or 2 TB of HDD space per drive. Files read from SSD will load quicker so it's recommended for the operating system and software or games that are run regularly or can take advantage of the quicker load times.
