Pros
Pro It's your ready to use tweaked FireFox
Although Mozilla is more and more loosing its anonymous claims, one must admit that it is still one of the best browsers out there. Some ignore the silly exploits of Mozilla (e.g. Pocket, Google default, Clickz, snapd) in favour of its qualities as a browser with a perfect add ons environment. Of course you can tweak FireFox to become more anonymous. But what if somebody else did (some of) that work for you already? Enter LibreWolf.
Pro This is by far the best private browser for the clearnet
It's open-source and has great fingerprinting protection. It also has a big development team behind it, and is Google FREE. It enables RFP which is part of the Tor Uplift project. RFP is considered the best in class anti-fingerprinting solution.
Cons
Con Has DDG
DuckDuckGo is seen by many as a good and anonymous search engine. And yes, it might be much better than the Googles and Bings out there. But it is still an US based search engine, with all possible complications of that connected to it. Better would be if LibreWolf considered a genuine search engine alternative (of course, you can also change the default yourself).
Con On Gecko engine it's not possible to stop DNS request leaking ISP address
On Firefox or any fork of Gecko engine it is not possible to stop DNS request leaking ISP address, no matter how much "hardening" you do. Even with spoofing extension you can't stop browser making your IP address available that conducts to unwanted identifiable geolocation. It's built for standard US tracking behavior.
Con Slow with security updates
Because LibreWolf is a fork of FireFox, the security updates of FireFox trickle down to LibreWolf with some delay. Question is, especially looking at the FF updates in the past, whether this should be regarded as critical yes or no. Either way, fact is that LibreWolf is slower.
