The large 2910 mAh battery allows for extended use averaging 8 1/2 hours of use, more than seen in most high end devices such as the iPhone 6 Plus or Nexus 6.

Call quality works perfectly fine in any situation due to the loud earpiece volume.

Luckily there is only a slight theme to the device consisting mainly of an icon pack. All Lollipop features one would expect are still on the device, giving a mostly stock experience with a slight skin over top.

Chrome accents, faux brushed metal back place and a small form factor for a 5.5" screen phone shows a level of quality not expected for such a low priced device.

An IPS full HD panel on the device is definitely the highlight. It has great viewing angles and color production.

For a low end phone, the cameras supplied are of nice quality and offer high megapixel pictures. This allows for better pictures than what would be expected of a $249 device.

Alcatel has struck up a deal to have JBL supply the stereo speakers for the OneTouch Idol 3. Something of a name recognition factor to the sound of their device, like BEATS, but on the lower end.

Stereo speakers of course offer a better sound experience than MONO, making for more enjoyable music and movies.
