Con Diagram elements often overlap each other, requiring a great deal of manual intervention
When generating a diagram from a database or schema, of even moderate complexity, MySQL Workbench does not automatically prevent table elements from overlapping or even overlying each other, and requires a fair amount of manual dragging to get a useful diagram to show a client.
Con Has problems when talking to MariaDB
MySQL Workbench, while great, has some issues dealing with the supposed 'drop in replacement', MariaDB in its current incarnation (6.2.5.0 build 397), and them being in somewhat competition I don't see the compatibility agenda being pushed any time soon
