Pros
Pro Opera can have extensions from Opera Addons & Chrome Store websites
Opera supports cross-browser extensions. Opera Addons site keeps quality up compared to Chrome Store. Full of useful extensions, Opera also supports extra APIs like Speed Dial API, Extension Sidebar API and Stash API meaning wider variety of extension possibilities than in Chrome.
Cons
Con Not trustworthy
Opera Software is owned by a consortium of Chinese investors known as "golden brick capital private equity fund limited partnership". Four of Opera Software's other apps were allegedly doing some sketchy stuff that was in violation of Google Play Store Policies. These apps apparently were targeting people in India, Kenya and Nigeria with predatory loans offering APRs of 33% when the actual rate was as high as 438%.
On top of all of that, the current Opera CEO is allegedly involved in another Chinese lending business that was accused of fraud and illegal lending practices.
Con Resource consumption
When browsing around, Opera is quite efficient. But when loads of tabs open, it feels like Opera is putting a great effort to keep all those tabs like awake or active instead of just the top most one. This can heat up a laptop and drain its battery.
Con Proprietary
While Opera is currently available gratis (without monetary charge), it is currently not libre (meaning that it does not allow users to view the source code used to create, to modify that code, or to redistribute modifications) and is therefor neither free nor open-source software.
