The bass is full, has great depth and hits with a lot of power and slam. The mids are also full and forward. Vocals, guitars and keys sound very clear and they are very easy to appreciate. The highs have a good amount of detail but are slightly rolled off, making these sound smooth.

The SE846 comes with two extra sound filters which you can swap the stock one to. There is a set of filters for a more bassy sound, and another set for a more treble-centric sound signature. The filters can be swapped out using the included tool to open up the earpieces.

With this feature, you will be able to actually change the sound to further suit your preference.

Along with the interchangeable sound filters, the SE846 comes with a generous accessory pack which includes a selection of ear tips, a carrying case and a cleaning tool.

It uses high quality MMCX connectors, making the cables removable. This should make it easy for you to swap out to different cables for different purposes or to easily replace damaged ones.

The 8 drivers combine to produce a pretty flat and balanced sound. The bass is tight and controlled. Extension is deep yet is not bloated in any way. The mids are full and has a good warmth to it, so vocals are very clear without being too forward or overpowering. There is a lot of detail that can be heard from the highs, yet the frequencies are tuned just right to avoid harshness.

The accuracy makes these great not just for music enjoyment, but also as reference in-ears for mixing/monitoring.

While the sound stage is not the widest among the high-end options available, what's there is very musical and allows for clear and defined instrument separation.

You get two sets of headphone cables. The stock cable is the standard Westone cable which provides great sound, along with the convenience of an in-line remote and microphone.
