Pros
Pro A truly well done first person VR shooter
Robo Recall is an expertly executed game. You play as a "Recaller," trained in recalling malfunctioning products (namely, robots). You can do all sorts of fun things in the game, which range from blasting tons of robots into oblivion, to deflecting their shots with your weapons, and you can even pull their bullets right out of the air and throw them back.
There are plenty of great things to explore; perhaps you want to tear a robot's arms off and use them as swords, or maybe you want to hold one hostage and use him as a shield.
Robo Recall allows you to do all of these things, and much more.
Pro The weapons in the game look and feel powerful
There's a total of 4 weapons in Robo Recall: the pistol, the revolver, the shotgun, and the plasma rifle. Each weapon has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, which you can further amplify thanks to an (albeit small) assortment of attachments for each of them.
The weapons look great and feel satisfying to use. The shotgun was particularly well executed, and is largely considered a favorite.
Pro No motion sickness thanks to teleportation-style movement
Many VR games give players an issue with motion sickness. If you haven't played long enough to acquire your "VR legs" then you can get nautious and dizzy relatively easily. Robo Recall circumvents that with movement via teleporting, which means you can play all day with no drawbacks.
Pro One of the best games to introduce new players to VR
Robo Recall is incredible for new players. The opening sequence features a mini jump scare that will serve as a testament to what they're about to experience. The first level of the game will be absolutely mind blowing for the vast majority of players.
Pro Unlimited replayability
Once the subscription is paid there is no set path for the user. Everything is open to the player meaning they can choose what to do and where to go. This makes for a completely open-ended title that allows for a fresh experience anytime the player wants.
Pro Unique community rules
There is an actual sanctioning body for the game called FIRST that keeps players in line making for a non toxic community that behaves professionally. If a player races aggressively or continually breaks the rules of the rod their license will receive infractions that will soon label that person as one to stay away from.
Cons
Con Expensive as it requires a subscription plus additional costs
iRacing requires a subscription that starts at $6/mo. as well as has costs for extra cars and tracks. Overall an expensive game to play for those that want to experience all of the content on offer.
Con Difficult to play with a gamepad
The controls for the game are very precise and in being so is best played with a driving wheel with petals and a shifter. Trying to play with a gamepad does work but will really inhibit the players controls especially if they are competing in online races.
